HOW TO BECOME A SPONSORED ATHLETE?

This is just an experiment to see how difficult it is to become a sponsored athlete. However, I have a few other goals to achieve as well. I want to learn about building relationships, marketing, return on investments, branding, and some “how to” growth tips and tricks in the off chance I’d start a company of my own one day. How do I connect with influencers to help grow a brand, what essentials are needed from the ground floor to reach the sky?

I’ve decided to build partnerships with the following brands, two of which have under 10,000 followers and low engagement ratings. They’re both one man band’s going on their journey to success at their own pace, just as I am. So, how can we team up to grow together and be successful at our own craft? I have media and design skills, some off the walls ideas, and they have products I love. There’s ideas a brewing, you never know until you throw the pickle at the glass if it’ll stick or just slide down.

Now, I’m not just in this to be a social media athlete and have the title on my bio. Not really the point. I’m in it to get better at my craft while helping other brands grow as well. Why win alone, when we can win together. Also, I get to get out and photograph my friends doing outdoorsy stuff. They get cool photos, the brands get content, my friends get interested in the brands, the brands sell more products, etc. I may or may not get sponsored, but it’s worth the experience. The experience in creating content for brands, the experience of researching and exploring how difficult it is to become an athlete of a non - traditional sport. In the end, the goal is a win for all. The three musketeers making it in this world.

How can I work both brands into both their respected aesthetics and non - convential areas. Let’s add some urban climbing to the mix or test Outlast’s bag at a waterpark. How can I show that these brands aren’t just for their certain environments, but yet a product everyone can use.
